Episode 2 of 20, Britain's Empty Homes, Series 2

Duration: 30 minutes

Admin manager Hannah Overton and her lorry driver husband Michael from Ewell in Surrey think an empty property could be the key to their dream home.

Having carried out minor projects like fitting a new kitchen and bathroom in the past, they think they are ready for more of a challenge and dream of swapping suburbia for country life.

They have a budget of 500,000 pounds to find and renovate their perfect rural retreat, but will they be able to spot the potential in a 19th-century stable block and former coach house in the village of Worting near Basingstoke? A developer's dream it may be - but it needs everything: walls, floors, plumbing, electrics - the lot. Presenter Jules Hudson is on hand to inspire Hannah and Michael and guide them through the pros and cons of taking on an empty property.
