Lammos Lost 45s - THE QUADS – There Must Be Thousands

This is a classic John Peel record. By 1978/79, new post punk scenes were springing up all over the country and bands – inspired by punk and new wave were arriving by the week. Some were pretty average, but every so often a real instant gem of a record would emerge (much to Peel’s obvious delight, as he’d play it for nights on end). The Quads ‘There Must Be Thousands’ backed with the equally good ‘You’ve Gotta Jive’ is the only record in our A-Z which also found a place into Peel’s record Box, the legendary receptacle which housed his most prized singles. On the cusp of the mod revival, but with a distinct nod to power-pop, it would probably be my Good Day record if I was ever on Good Day Bad Day.
