Synopsis
Jon Sopel and John Hess are here with the top political stories of the week.
Coming Up
The Politics Show reports on concerns over claims being made for a new baby milk formula. The manufacturer says it contains an ingredient which "improves babies' eye development."
The EU Commission has approved the claim.
But regional member of the European Parliament, Glenis Willmott, is angry that the decision was made behind closed doors. She says the European Parliament should decide if the claim is justified.
The programme also looks into growing anger over opencast mining in the East Midlands. The Conservative MP for North West Leicestershire, Andrew Bridgen, wants 500 metre buffer zones to protect residents from opencast schemes. But the director general of the industry group, Coal Pro, insists that's unrealistic.
And our political editor, John Hess, interviews former Labour MP, Lord Janner, about his autobiography.
He lost many of his relatives to the Holocaust. And he tells John he's worried about attacks on minority communities today.
