Today there are over 200 clubs for young people in Wales, but their story begins back in the 1920s in the mining communities of the South Wales valleys.
This film looks at the history of the Boys Clubs of Wales and what they meant to some of our famous sporting personalities such as Max Boyce, Lynn 'The Leap' Davies and boxing star Nathan Cleverly.
