Lord Carlile of Berriew QC - Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation
David Cameron has predicted impending disaster over UK terror laws. Lord Carlile of Berriew QC was appointed the Government's Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation in 2001. His role has been extended so he can carry out the Prevent Review, an initiative aimed at stopping people from becoming radicalised or supporting violent extremism. Stephen Sackur asks Lord Carlile how Britain can strike the right balance between preserving civil liberties and protecting the public from terrorism.
