Ian McMillan presents Radio 3's cabaret of the word, featuring the best poetry and new writing. This week Ian's guests include the folk singer Jon Boden who has set himself the task of recording a new version of a traditional song every day for a year and making it available on the web. Jon will also be performing in the studio and reflecting on the occupational hazard of getting the words wrong when singing traditional songs. And, the Nigerian writer Kachi A.Ozumba presents a brand new story specially written for The Verb entitled 'Snow'. Caroline Bergvall performs a piece of Chaucerian sound art and explains her passion for pushing the boundaries of poetry. And, the writer Harry Ricketts on 'Strange Meetings' a collective biography of the poets of The Great War. The book offers new insights into some of our best-loved poets through casual meetings and near-encounters and shows clearly the influences they had on each other's writing and lives.
