As we celebrate All Saints and All Souls we bring together our prayerful thoughts.

Our prayers join us, who are still living, with all the saints who have gone before us into God’s presence.

Those who have gone before us endured the struggles of life. May their lives give us courage and hope.

We remember our dead may our tears for them be a sign of our love.

We remember the loss and grief of those around us. We thank God for the lives of those for whom we mourn. And as we remember our family and friends who have died, may they teach us to see life in true perspective. May we live wisely and may we not be afraid of death but have the courage to grow in hope.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit one God forever and ever, Amen.

Our blessing tonight is adapted from the Roman Ritual for the feast of All Saints.

“God is the glory and joy of all his saints whose memory we celebrate, may his blessing be with us always.

God’s holy Church rejoices that her children are one with the saints in lasting peace. May we be blessed with faith and hope so that we may share with them in the joys of Our Father’s house.”

And may almighty God bless us all in this world and in the next. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
