Originally from Southampton, 19 year old contortionist and Hip Hop dancer Charlie is currently living in London and studying a foundation degree at Circus Space.
|Fact title||Fact data|
Charlie started dancing at a very young age when he did Ballet classes alongside gymnastics. It wasn't until he was 16 that Charlie started to take dance seriously and he began teaching himself contortion break dancing. He says "I think I offer something different to the competition as I try to do things that nobody else can, I can't wait for the audience to see my crazy flexible tricks."
At Circus Space, Charlie learns everything from juggling to acrobatics, with his speciality being the Cyr Wheel. He dreams of combining dance, circus and theatre into one genre.
Charlie applied for SYTYCD on a whim and thinks of it as a good experience and every stage he gets to as a bonus as he isn't as technical as others. He feels his strengths are his "likeable personality and expressive face".
Although Charlie admits that he is often mistaken for Justin Bieber, he is quick to point out that he doesn't try to emulate the look, but just happens to have a baby face and already had the same hairstyle!
