Synopsis

Jamie Cullum showcases his love for all types of jazz, and music rooted in jazz, from its heritage to the future.

Nominated for the Album Of The Year Mercury award for their album Golden, the Kit Downes Trio are in session for Jamie at the BBC Maida Vale studios playing tunes from the album and telling the stories behind them.

After meeting at music college, the trio explain what brought them together as musicians and friends, and speak about the exciting position of the current UK jazz scene. Meanwhile the beauty and originality of their music captured in a live setting gives indication as to why they are being recognised for their work.
