Synopsis
This week's Saturday Sessions are provided by an up-and-coming Mercury-nominated artist and a past winner.
Villagers is the brainchild of Conor J. O'Brien whose debut release has been nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize. Entitled, Becoming A Jackal, the judges described it as "a record of great charm and mystery" with "eerie stories, imaginative arrangements and a singular poetic vision."
Klaxons picked up the 2007 Mercury Award for their debut release, Myths Of The Near Future, which was praised for taking the listener on an "ecstatic musical adventure". Their much-anticipated second album, Surfing The Void, is released later this month.
