According to a recent report from UK Feminista, women continue to be under-represented in British cultural life, and in politics, the church and academia. Journalist Mary Ann Sieghart says that for at least 20 years we have been fed the line that the 'Future is Female'. But why has the future has always failed to materialise? She discusses this with journalist Joan Smith.

Dad and daddy
Gay couple Barrie and Tony Drewitt-Barlow sparked a furore in 1999 when they travelled to the U.S. and used donated eggs and a surrogate mother to become the fathers of twins. The children became the first in this country to be registered as having two fathers and no mother. Four years later they had a son, and earlier this year they became the fathers of another set of twins. They join Jenni to discuss their unusual family and how they have found being the parents of five.

Esther Fairfax on her mother Lotte Berk
Lotte Berk became world famous as the devisor of the Lotte Berk Technique, a revolutionary fitness programme that led her to great fame and wealth during the 1960s and 70s. She was an outrageous, eccentric character renowned for her open views about sex and her list of famous clients. But her relationship with her daughter, Esther Fairfax, also a fitness teacher, was troubled. Esther has written a deeply candid portrait of her mother, and talks to Jenni about their love/hate relationship.
