A Kind of Loving

A Kind of Loving was made into a film which won the Golden Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival in 1962 and has since become a classic text in schools and universities in the UK and throughout the world. It has been translated into many languages.

Willy Russell recently chose the novel as the book which changed his life and attitude when he first read it. It is often cited out of all the '50's novels 'school' of realism, as 'the most human', and one with 'the most heart'. There have been many stories around similar themes since AKOL but this novel stands out amongst the rest as a modern classic.
