Synopsis
Mike Harding presents an hour of the very best in folk, roots and acoustic music including news from the world of folk and the latest album releases.
Plus, there's an interview with the UK's premiere player of the Northumbrian pipes, Kathryn Tickell, and tracks from a recently released CD compilation of her work from the past 25 years.
She discusses her musical upbringing in Northumberland, what inspired her to take up playing the pipes, and some of the many diverse musical projects she's been involved with over the years.
Kathryn, whose music is deeply connected to the landscape and people of Northumbria, also talks about her recent appointment as Artistic Director of Folkworks, based at The Sage Gateshead.
