Synopsis
Jamie Cullum showcases his love for all types of jazz, and music rooted in jazz, from its heritage to the future.
This week's show features an interview with the versatile jazz pianist Robert Glasper, who enjoys parallel careers, from the acoustic Robert Glasper Trio, to the hip hop fusion Robert Glasper Experiment and collaborations with artists including Mos Def, Q Tip and The Roots. He has released three albums on Blue Note records, the most recent being last summer's Double Booked, which showcased both aspects of his music.
Jamie also digs out a special archive session track: Satin Doll by Duke Ellington recorded in 1965 for the Late Night Line-up with Michael Dean.
