Synopsis
Aled says Good Morning Sunday to Florence Rawlings, whose talent was first spotted when she was just thirteen. She completed her A-Levels and immediately signed to a record label. Described as a mix of authentic soul, raw grooves and rhythm & blues, Florence sings tracks from her debut album live in the studio.
In the week leading up to Passover, Rabbi Andrew Shaw discusses the news of the week from a faith perspective, and gives the Moment of Reflection.
And, as part of Radio 2's Get Connected campaign, Aled speaks to Toby Scott, Director of Communications and Campaigns for the Methodist Church in Britain about how churches are using technology to support their congregation and share their faith with others.
All this month, Radio 2's Get Connected campaign is helping you get online and understand technology better. If you're not online but would like to be, then help is at hand! You can order our free Radio 2 Get Connected booklet containing information on the best way to get started online and where to get further help. Phone the BBC Advice Line on 08000 150 950.
Lines are open from 8am - 10pm, 7 days a week. Calls are free from a BT landline but mobile phone charges may vary. You can also speak to advisors who will be able to give you details of centres and courses in your area where you can learn how to get online and use the internet.
Florence Rawlings
21 year old Florence Rawlings was a big hit on Good Morning Sunday last year, when her single Love Can Be A Battlefield was the Sunday Spotlight. Florence was discovered eight years ago by producer Mike Batt, at the same time that he first heard Katie Melua. Then just 13 years old, Florence agreed that she should finish school, before embarking upon a professional career.
Last year she did just that and stunned crowds at the Isle of Wight Festival, going on to support Tom Jones on his European tour. Her first album, ‘A Fool In Love’, was released in January. It’s an impressive debut described as “classy stuff” by Music Week, it takes inspiration from Aretha Franklin, Eva Cassidy and Martha Reeves.

Faith Guest - Rabbi Andrew Shaw
Rabbi Andrew Shaw is the Community Rabbi at the Orthodox Stanmore & Canons Park Synagogue in London – the largest Jewish community in Europe. Rabbi Shaw studied for a Fuel and Energy Engineering degree but went on to study for the Rabbinate in New York and Jerusalem. Alongside his role as Community Rabbi, he is also Executive Director of Tribe, the Young United Synagogue.
Sunday Spotlight - Dala
This week, the spotlight falls on two Canadian singer-songwriters, Amanda Walther and Sheila Carabine who call themselves Dala. They met at their Catholic secondary school during a school band practice and have been singing together ever since. They have been described as “the angels of folk music. Ethereal, eloquent and downright beautiful".
Aled plays their song “Horses” which was nominated as one of the top ten country songs of 2009. The song was inspired, say Dala, by meeting a young man who had been in a terrible accident which resulted in him losing the use of his limbs as well as his speech. Meeting him at one of their concerts had such a profound effect on them that they wrote and dedicated this song to him.
