A series of short films about digital media literacy covering accessibility, blogging, developing online games, marketing online, the past online, plagiarism and making money online. The programme looks at the advantages the digital world brings as well as the pitfalls that can arise.
Jonathan is an 18-year-old entrepreneur who is setting up his third online business; Max and Josh are two young brothers who develop online games in their front room; Louis, aged 13, makes additional pocket money by selling items on online auction sites; and Andrea, deputy head girl at a school for the blind in Worcester, explains how digital technology both helps and challenges her in her everyday life.
In other films, an experiment is conducted to test how effective anti-plagiarism software can be and there is a look at how different museums and archives are preserving the past online. Two successful teen bloggers explain what blogging means to them and the reason they do it. Plus a look at the way products are marketed online through viral adverts and peer to peer marketing.
