We pray for those who mourn for parents, for children, for husbands and wives, for friends and neighbours. May God console those who mourn and remind them that because of the Passion of Jesus, death is not the final answer.
Forgive us Lord when we fail to understand your ways.
In our questioning we too can ask, were you there when I had to face my illness. Were you there in my loneliness? Were you there with the poor people of Haiti – of Chile - and all those who suffer from natural disasters?
We know Lord, that even when we say, were you there, you hear it as a prayer. Help us all to take time to think of your passion and death as we prepare for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.
We offer all our prayers, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
