Video - Super rich burglaries
Sorry, you must enable Javascript to display media contentTheir homes are secluded behind a labyrinth of security - automatic gates, high walls, CCTV, alarms and personal security teams.
Even so, the super-rich have become prime targets of a string of high profile burglaries.
In the Premier League, they’ve been dubbed the 'Away Day Robberies' as players are often at out-of-town matches.
In the last four years there have been around 30 break-ins.
So far only one man has been convicted.
Players from nearly all the Premiership teams in the North West of England have been targets - with cash jewellery and expensive cars being taken.
Police have never linked the incidents.
Amii Grove knows how frightening a robbery attempt can be.
A page-three model - she shared a home at Hale near Widnes with her then boyfriend Jermaine Pennant, a former Liverpool player.
They had CCTV around the grounds, three dogs, and a reinforced driveway gate.
But that didn’t stop a gang of four hooded men in a stolen 4x4 trying to ram their way in.
The ram-raiders eventually fled - and the vehicle was found burnt out.
Police recovered crowbars and baseball bats - but the gang has never been caught. -
