WORLD WETLANDS DAY
The RSPB will be holding a walk on Sunday 7th February at Lough Beg National Nature Reserve to highlight World Wetlands Day. The event starts at 10 am, along the Ballydermott Road opposite Church Island, Bellaghy. There is limited space for car parking, so the RSPB are asking visitors to car share. In 2009 Larne Museum and Arts Centre received a donation of two pieces of Larne Pottery. These are now on display and the museum are hoping that members of the public might be able to help with their research by supplying any photos or stories that they would like to share about this important piece of Larne’s history. TREE TUGGING AT AN CREGGAN
On Sunday 7th February a day of tree tugging will mark the start of a wider bog restoration and biodiversity education project at the An Creggan Centre, near Omagh. Members of the public are being invited along to help pull up the trees, which they can then take home to plant in their garden. To take part in the project, call Peter Brown on 028 8076 1112
