KATHERINE AND JOHN HACKETT – GOLDEN CROSS NARROWBOAT
The “Golden Cross” is a joint project between John and Kathryn Hackett and Birmingham City Mission. The narrow boat is a charity hotel canal boat, designed primarily with the Christian community in mind. Churches, Christian youth organisations and similar charities sponsor its passengers either for holidays or retreats.
ANDREW SMITH – DIRECTOR YOUTH ENCOUNTER
Andrew runs the Youth Encounter project for Scripture Union, encouraging Muslim and Christian youth to interact. Andrew tells Aled all about the project and why it’s relevant to Birmingham. Andrew also takes Aled bowling with a group of the boys to talk about their experiences.

Outside broadcast was recorded at Town Hall, Birmingham – a music venue based in the Centre of Birmingham City. It was originally opened in 1834 but closed in 1996 for health and safety reasons. It re-opened in 2007 with a £35 million refurbishment.
