Join Jackie Bird and Phil Cunningham for the big end of year celebration - Hogmanay Live 2009. Some of the best traditional and contemporary singers and musicians join legendary ambassadors of Scottish music Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain as BBC Scotland first-foots the nation and promises to bring in the new year with a bang.
Joining Jackie and Phil is Seth Lakeman, descibed as the hard-working pin-up of British indie folk music, with his powerful foot stomping sound. Seth is a festival favourite and his third album Poor Man's Heaven debuted at number eight. Pearl and the Puppets bring their unique brand of acoustic-indie that won rave reviews at T in the Park 2009.
Scots Singer of the Year 2008/9 Emily Smith has firmly established herself as a leading light in the Scottish folk scene and guarantees to deliver a spellbinding performance.
There will be a very special surprise after midnight, and if that wasn't enough an all-star house band featuring folk royalty - John McCusker, Michael McGoldrick, Ross Hamilton and James McIntosh - promises to take the roof off!
Nobody does Hogmanay like the Scots, and 2009 promises to be bigger, bolder and better than ever before. Jam-packed with surprises and celebrity guests, it is a night you will want to be a part of.
