Brian Matthew presents the programme for all fans of the music of the 1960s. With facts, figures and trivia as well as the classic hits, rarities, instrumentals and album tracks, the selection sweeps right across the most important decade for popular music from beginning to end.

Weekly features include: The A-Z of The Beatles, which works its way through their entire catalogue playing every one of their recordings - this week we reach 'Wait'. The One Before The Hit plays two tracks from Sandi Shaw; and The EP Collection, which looks at a four-track vinyl release from Billy J.Kramer and the Dakotas.

Other artists include Wayne Gibson, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Troggs, The Browns and who was Dick Jordan (aka Don Duke)?

Sounds Of The 60s began in 1983 and Brian has been at helm since 1990, bringing to the programme his distinctive voice and unmatchable experience of 60s pop shows.
