    Alec Ross was a dispatch rider in the Second World War and was posted to Egypt. He dropped his backpack when he was part of a mission in the desert there. It contained letters from home and photographs. Ross himself returned to England after the war, he married and lived near Milton Keynes until he died 5 years ago. But in 2007 a tour guide saw the bag lying by the side of the road and picked it up. It was returned to his sister Irene Porter 65 years later.
