Libby Purves finds out how the money raised by listeners last year for the 2008 BBC Radio 4 Christmas Appeal has been spent over the past 12 months.

Libby: "I was very moved by this poem written by Jamie".

Jamie is a young homeless man who put his experience of homelessness into words, in the writers' group at The Connection at St Martins. His poem is called "The Wanderer".

Poem read by Chris Lampard who leads the writers' group. Slideshow production by Nicky Barranger.
