Synopsis

Purcell Weekend

Iain Burnside presents live music from the Purcell Quartet, who play sonatas by Purcell and Corelli, and he also accompanies John Mark Ainsley in Purcell realisations by Britten and Tippett. Concordia perform a St Cecilia's Day Ode from a concert in July 2009 and the BBC Singers explore two completions of Purcell's anthem Hear my Prayer.
