John Smeaton, the ex-baggage handler who foiled a terrorist attack on Glasgow airport, took on his biggest challenge yet when he stood as an independent MP in the Glasgow North East by-election.
This documentary goes behind the scenes of John's campaign as he tries to end 60 years of Labour rule. Despite once being hailed a hero and feted by the media, can John rely on the public's support in his new role as a parliamentary candidate? What reception will he get as he pounds the streets of the constituency with his mum, dad and best mate helping him hand out leaflets? Will the hero make a good politician?
