Synopsis
A special Songs of Praise to mark Remembrance Sunday. Pam Rhodes visits Wootton Bassett, where locals line the street to honour the repatriated soldiers who lost their lives serving their country.
Tribute is paid to the last three veterans of the First World War, who all died this year. Hymns include I Vow to Thee My Country and O Valiant Hearts.

BRENDA AND DENNIS GOODWIN
World War One Veterans Association
This year the last survivors of the First World War William Stone, Harry Patch and Henry Allingham reached the end of their long lives. Hundred’s of people came to pay their respects at their funerals especially to Henry Allingham’s who at 113 was also the oldest man in Europe.
For two decades, Dennis Goodwin and his wife Brenda have been running the First World War Veterans Association, they knew them well.

World War II Widow
Dorothea Pullen was a young girl of 18 when war was declared. She reflects on being a War Widow.

Anne Bevis is the secretary of the local British Legion Association.

Ken Scott is a World War Two Veteran, he explains why he attends every repatriation in Wootton Bassett.

Former Chief of the General Staff
Sir Richard chats to Pam about his own experiences in Afghanistan and how his faith has helped him. He shows Pam the Elizabeth Cross and explains what the cross represents.
Sir Richard Dannatt’s interview, The Rev. Paul Wright’s interview and The Coldstream Guards musical performance were all shot in The Royal Military Chapel in London, also known as the Guards Chapel. The chapel is the religious home of the five guards regiment.
