    As victims of the thalidomide tragedy reach their 50s, actor Ricky Tomlinson investigates their fears of a future blighted by failing health and financial worries.

    In response to the film, the Department of Health says: "We have the greatest sympathy for patients and families affected by Thalidomide and take their concerns very seriously.

    "Representatives of the [Thalidomide] Trust are in ongoing discussions with Mike O'Brien, Minister of State for Health Services, and senior officials, to further discuss their concerns."

    It says the private settlement with Diageo PLC, which makes annual payments to the Trust, will pay a total of £150m by 2037.
