Prayers
We pray the Collect for Remembrance Sunday.
“Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed:
Kindle, we pray, in the hearts of all, the true love of peace,
And guide, with your pure and peaceable wisdom,
Those who take council for the nations of the earth,
That in tranquillity your kingdom may go forward,
Till the earth is filled with knowledge of your love;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Tonight we ask God to bless the political and religious leaders of the world with wisdom so that war and death may be eradicated.
We ask you Lord to bless all those who have been bereaved as a result of war and violence. Send the Holy Spirit the consoler to give them peace, courage and hope.
May each of us be blessed with a future free from fear and may we have the strength to overcome all anxiety.
Bless all who work for peace and those who risk their lives to keep the peace.
May the blessing of Almighty God be with all those who need it most on this Remembrance Sunday.
In the name of The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirit, Amen.
