Jack’s first album was released while he was holding down a job as a gas station attendant, but since then his illustrious career has spanned more than 50 years, and includes two Grammy awards for ‘Best Pop Male Vocal Performance’ for “Lollipops and Roses” and “Wives and Lovers” as well as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Comedian and actor Alan Davies is not only a former member of Chicken’s Lib, but also featured notably in the cult BBC series ‘Jonathan Creek’ as well as joining Stephen Fry on QI. A man of many talents, he’s recently written his childhood memoir titled ‘My Favourite People and Me 1978-1988’ about growing up in the late 70s and 80s and is soon to be seen on ‘Horizon’ on Tuesday 17th November at 9pm on BBC 2 attempting to answer that old proverbial question: how long is a piece of string?
ROY HATTERSLEY
Roy Hattersley was an MP from 1964 until 1997; serving not only in Harold Wilson’s government and in Jim Callaghan’s Cabinet, but also becoming deputy leader of the Labour Party in 1983. Roy is also a columnist and author. His most recent book ‘In Search Of England’ is an unabashed celebration of England and is published by Michael Joseph.
JOHN SHUTTLEWORTH
Sheffield’s most versatile singer/organist John Shuttleworth will be discussing his new documentary ‘Southern Softies’ with regular guest interviewer Emma Freud in which he traverses the Channel Islands in an attempt to decipher whether the further South you go, the softer people become. ‘Southern Softies’ is in cinemas from Friday 20th November and is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the critically-acclaimed spoof documentary ‘It’s Nice Up North’.
