    About episode 2: Mary Black

In the second programme Mary Black tells us about her strong musical and family links with Rathlin island. There was always music in Mary’s home, and this programme shows a clip from a BBC NI’s archive featuring Mary and her brothers and sister.

Mary was introduced to an international audience as singer with the traditional band De Danann but her global career started with the phenomenally popular album ‘No Frontiers’ which was one of Ireland’s best selling albums in 1989.
