The Reg Vardy Band is arguably the most successful band in the North East of England. In recent years they've been regional champions over 30 times and they've been featured regularly on the programme.

Tonight, with conductor Stephen Malcolm, they play a programme of specially recorded music which includes part of Mussorgsky's ever popular Pictures At An Exhibition, Cole Porter's It's Alright With Me and a Sousa classic march, Hail The Spirit Of Liberty.
