Hickstead Derby 2009

Clare Balding presents live coverage of the Hickstead Derby, one of the most famous events in world showjumping.

The Sussex course is considered by some to be the ultimate jumping test for horse and rider, featuring obstacles such as Devil's Dyke and the infamous Derby Bank. Previous winners include David Broome, Harvey Smith, Eddie Macken and John Whitaker.

In 2008, Will Funnell and Cortaflex Mondriaan claimed the honours after a thrilling jump-off involving 2007 winner Geoff Billington and his grey Cassabachus. It was a second Hickstead victory for Funnell and his mount, who also won in 2006.

Commentary from Michael Tucker and Andy Austin.
