Clive Anderson is joined by none other than Sir Trevor McDonald, one of Britain’s most eminent and well loved newsreaders. He had the unenviable position of filming his latest series in locations around the Caribbean Islands, to discover the parts off the tourist guides. ‘The Secret Caribbean’ broadcasts on Sundays, starting on Sunday 28 June at 20.00pm on ITV1 and ITV HD.

Actress Doon Mackichan stars in the new BBC comedy based on the fears and raging egos of War Zone reporters. ‘Taking the Flak’ starts on Wednesday 8 July at 21.00pm on BBC Two and 22.00pm on Wednesdays thereafter.

Stand by for action… creator of the enduringly popular Thunderbirds, Stingray and Captain Scarlett, Gerry Anderson talks about the special edition release of his classic live action puppet series, Fireball XL5. ‘Fireball XL5 Special Edition’ is available on DVD from Monday 29 June.

Rachael Stirling is ‘On Thin Ice’ with explorer and presenter Ben Fogle, who embarked on a race to the South Pole with rowing ace James Cracknell, chronicled in a new BBC TV series and book. ‘On Thin Ice’ is broadcast on BBC Two from Sunday 28 June at 21.00pm and BBC HD from Monday 29 June at 21.00pm. The accompanying book co-written with James Cracknell ‘Race To the Pole’ is published by Macmillan.
