  • Prayer

    In our prayer tonight we thank the Lord Jesus Christ who gave us the Eucharist as a memorial of his suffering and death.Through his body and blood may we grow in strength and may our sins be washed away.

    Lord you give us your body and blood in the Eucharist as a sign that even on this earth we share your life. May we come to possess it completely in the Kingdom where you live forever. May all of us be brought closer together by the Eucharist we receive and even by the desire to receive that Eucharist.

    And I conclude our prayers tonight with an adaptation of a post Communion Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer.

    May we who share Christ’s Body live his risen life;
    We who drink his cup bring life to others;
    We whom the spirit lights give light to the world.
    Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us
    So we and all your children shall be free
    And the whole earth live to praise your name through Christ our Lord, Amen.

  • Blessing

    Lord we ask your blessing on all those who have not been able to celebrate Holy Communion in Church today. May they experience through our prayers tonight your healing power and your love.

    Bless all those who are hungry tonight. May we share our food and may it be life-giving and sustaining for the starving people everywhere.

    Help us to share our bread with the world and may our sense of duty and justice bring the bread of life to those most in need of it.

    Send your healing power. Take away our pain our suffering, our loneliness, and depression.
    Bless us with love, happiness, peace and a sense of belonging to your family.
    May almighty God bless us all in this world and in the next.
    In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
