    Poetry readings from our 2009 poetry season are no longer available.

    Gillian Clarke became the National Poet of Wales last year. She was born in Cardiff and now lives on a smallholding in Ceredigion. Although both her parents were native Welsh speakers she was brought up speaking English as a child and only learnt to speak Welsh as an Adult. She has worked in broadcasting, as a teacher and as a creative writing tutor at the University of Glamorgan. She has published several collections of Poetry since her first ‘Snow on the Mountain’ in 1971. Her latest ‘A Recipe for Water’ was published this year.
