    Peter Porter was born in Brisbane, Australia in 1929 and moved to London in 1951. His first collection of poetry, ‘Once Bitten, Twice Bitten’ was published in 1961 and his latest, ‘Better than God’ this year. In 2001 Peter was Poet in Residence for the Proms. He was Awarded the 2002 Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.
