In front of an audience at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2009, veteran bassist Henry Grimes tells Alyn Shipton his life story and presents his essential recordings. Grimes was seen as one of the most influential bassists of the 1960s, and then after years of obscurity, he was rediscovered in 2003.
