Synopsis

In the tabloid press he is known simply as the Curry King. Sir Gulam Noon made a fortune out of Britain's appetite for Indian food. He gave some of his money to Tony Blair's Labour Party and as a result he ended up embroiled in a scandal which left painful scars. Now the Blair years are history, and the Brown Government is wrestling with a savage recession.

Sir Gulam Noon talks to Stephen Sackur.
