Synopsis

Presented by Graham Stewart.

Hayley Miller speaks to self-made multi-millionaire and one of the wealthiest young people in the UK, Azeem Ibrahim. From humble beginnings in Glasgow's Maryhill, 33 year-old Azeem has built up a business empire which includes an insurance corporation, a private offshore bank and a hedge fund.

When the Queen's Awards for Enterprise were announced this week, one company recognised for its achievements was Aberdeen-based manufacturer Woollard Henry. Only seven years ago it was on the brink of closure, but its fortunes have changed since moving to employee ownership. Our reporter Gillian Sharpe takes a closer look at this increasingly popular business model.

And our business and economy editor Douglas Fraser meets the chief executive of Scottish Enterprise, Jack Perry, to find out more about its revamped business plan designed to help businesses survive the recession.
