Earlier this year, Radio 2 marked the 60th anniversary of Ray Galton and Alan Simpson's writing partnership with a series of half hour comedies, especially adapted by them for Radio 2. Here's another chance to enjoy the series starring Frank Skinner, Mitchell & Webb, Rik Mayall, June Whitfield and Paul Merton.
The fourth and final drama in this series, The Blood Donor, stars Paul Merton as Arthur Bunclarke. When Arthur does his patriotic duty, by donating a pint of his blood, he is unaware until the prick of the needle that he is the proud possessor of one of the rarest blood groups in the world.
The drama was first broadcast on BBC television in 1961 as part of Hancock's Half Hour, starring Tony Hancock.
