Jake Humphrey presents coverage of qualifying from Melbourne as the opening race of the 2009 Formula 1 season gets underway. Defending champion Lewis Hamilton will be hoping to match his success in Australia last year. The Briton qualified on pole before winning the race ahead of Nick Heidfeld.

Jonathan Legard and Martin Brundle provide the commentary as F1 returns to the BBC for the first time since 1996.
