Alan Partridge - A Broadcasting Legend

Alan Gordon Partridge is Norwich's favourite chat show host. He first appeared in 1991 on the Radio 4 show 'On The Hour' as a sports reporter. In 1994 he was a sports reporter and commentator on TV’s 'The Day Today', which spawned his very own chat show 'Knowing Me, Knowing You …. With Alan Partridge'.

After accidentally killing one of his guests, he then hosted the graveyard shift on Radio Norwich from 4.30 am to 7.00 am with a show imaginatively entitled "Up With The Partridge", living at the Linton Travel Lodge Hotel.

In 'I'm Alan Partridge' in 1997, Alan tried to rebuild his career on Radio Norwich with his devoted P.A., Lynne, ready for his return to celebrity status. In 2002, in series 2, Alan ‘bounced back’ by getting the third best slot on the radio station. He wrote an autobiography and gained a 33 year-old girlfriend called Sonja.

The Times newspaper described him as 'a breath of fetid air, altogether reprehensible and brilliantly British'.
