Synopsis

Presented by Jane Garvey.

Angela Gheorghiu's career as an opera singer has taken her far from her home country of Romania to concert venues all over the world. As her new recording of Madame Butterfly is released, she joins Jane to discuss her life and work.

Fiona Millar discusses her new book, 'The Secret World of the Working Mother', which looks into the pressures and opportunities for women today who want to have a family without abandoning their career aspirations.

Monday Panel: Fiona Millar joins Jane along with author Shalina Zahra Janmohamed and political blogger Iain Dale. Amongst the topics under the microscope are: is Twitter really a threat to our children? Is it true that online social networking is changing the way we think altogether?

Justin Pearse, editor of the internet magazine New Media Age, joins Jane to discuss the growing popularity of Twitter and some of the industry's concerns.

Including drama: The Death of Grass. Part of BBC Radio 4's Science Fiction Season.
