Martti Ahtisaari

For three decades he's been involved in some of the world's most intractable conflicts. He has helped to deliver Namibia's independence and peace in Aceh, but so far success in resolving the future of Kosovo has evaded him.

Stephen Sackur asks the winner of the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize, Martti Ahtisaari, whether his faith in international peace making has been undermined by his experience in the Balkans and the fact that so many brutal conflicts still rage around the world.
