Synopsis

A last-ditch attempt to block the planned Lloyds TSB takeover of HBOS has been launched. The legal bid is being mounted by the Merger Action Group (MAG); we speak to its spokesman, Edinburgh architect Malcolm Fraser.

It's been a thoroughly miserable week for retailers, with both Woolworths and MFI slipping into administration and profits tumbling at Curry's owner DSG. Robert Clarke from the Retail Knowledge Bank gives his analysis and Rachel Grant from R3, the trade body for insolvency practitioners, tell us about the process of administration.

Honda UK managing director Ken Kerr tells us why his company is closing production at its Swindon plant for 50 days next year.

David Kerr reports on this year's Entrepreneurial Exchange Entrepreneur of the Year Award and we speak live to the winner, Perthshire butcher Simon Howie.
