Welcome to the world of Fags Mags and Bags!
The newsagents and confectioners which has delivered shop philosophy, genuine empathy and tiny little rubbery fried eggs to the denizens of Lenzie (Lenzidens) for over 29 years. It is both amazing and great! And both Sony award nominated and Writers Guild award winning!
Ramesh Majhu is the man who runs Fags Mags and Bags, ably assisted by Dave and un-ably assisted by his sons Alok and Sanjay. Now about to embark on its third series! (”The Wire” fanatics among you may prefer “season”; we still watch Crown Court).
FMB may be a small-to-medium local retail concern, but it has never shied from the global issues.
In series 1 the nettle of the ugly spectre of racism was grasped ... a religious festival was invented ... and an impacted cola bottle (sour) was removed from one of Ramesh’s premolars. We were also introduced to the Wall of Crisps, and were witness to the world’s first partwork completion.
In series 2 the nettle of the ugly spectre of corruption was grasped ... Lenzie went briefly feral ... and Sanjay grew a moustache which lacked lustre.
Series 3 will continue to push the envelope ... Ramesh will enter the world of politics ... Ramesh and Dave will fall out spectacularly ... the wall of crisps will be placed in jeopardy ... and a cast member will die ... -
Shopumentary
To demonstrate the glory of his corner shop empire, Ramesh has made a 'shopumentary' for the folks back home.
