How to get 5 live Olympics Extra

To offer additional coverage during the Olympic Games, BBC Radio 5 live is launching a new radio service: BBC Radio 5 live Olympics Extra. You can recieve 5 live Olympics Extra via one of three ways: DAB radio, online or mobile.

• DAB radio

   

  The station will be listed as BBC R50 or BBC R5L Olympics. It will appear between Radio 5 live and Radio 5 live sports extra.

   

  5 live Olympics Extra is in the station list between 5 live and sports extra on a digital radio. It may appear automatically in the station list.

   

  Not all receivers have the same functionality and the instructions below attempt to cover the different ways you can auto tune your radio:

   

  Option 1

  • Press Auto Tune or Auto Scan button on your radio
  • The display screen will show Autotune Quick scan / Fast Scanning
  • As new stations are found the station counter on the right hand side of the display will increase and new stations will be added to this list
  • It may take a couple of minutes for your radio to update the station list
  • Scroll through the station list and you will find BBC Radio 5 live Olympics Extra after BBC Radio 5 live

   

  Option 2:

  • Press ‘menu’ button on your DAB radio
  • Rotate the ‘Tune’ button until you see ‘Autotune’ in the display
  • Select Autotune
  • As new stations are found the station counter on the right hand side of the display will increase and new stations will be added to the list
  • This should only take a couple of minutes
  • Radio 5 live Olympics Extra can be found in the display after Radio 5 live.

   

  If you have a digital radio in your car you will be able to access the station.

   

  Please note that it is not available via analogue.

• Online

  5 live Olympics Extra will be available online at bbc.co.uk/5liveolympicsextra

   

  It is also available via the RadioPlayer at bbc.co.uk/radio/player/bbc_radio_five_live_olympics_extra

   

  Please note that it is NOT available via digital television.

• Mobile

  5 live Olympics Extra is accessible via selected mobile devices (NB: it is not available on Blackberry’s or non-flash Android devices).
