Synopsis

Highlights from the velodrome, as the medals are decided in the men's 4,000m individual pursuit, the men's points race and the men's keirin. Britain holds a strong hand, with Bradley Wiggins defending his Olympic pursuit title, Mark Cavendish and Chris Newton going for gold in the points race and Chris Hoy and Jamie Staff potential medallists in the keirin. The women's individual pursuit also begins.
