Hickstead Derby 2008

Clare Balding presents coverage of the world-famous Hickstead Derby, one of the premier events in world show jumping. The Derby roll of honour includes the likes of David Broome, Harvey Smith, Eddie Macken and John Whitaker but it is the Sussex course itself that is the biggest star. With iconic obstacles such as Devil's Dyke and the Derby Bank, it proves the ultimate jumping test for horse and rider. Last year threw up something of a surprise when 52-year-old Geoff Billington and his grey Cassabachus were the only combination to jump a clear round and so claim the 40,000 pounds first prize. Commentary from Michael Tucker and Stephen Hadley.

The programme also includes coverage of the Irish Derby from the Curragh.
